Ridge resident Blaise Walkowiak was arrested after he illegally attempted to purchase the firearm from Benson’s Gun Shop on Middle Country Road in Coram on Monday, Sept. 30, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office announced on Sunday, Oct. 27.
Investigators noted that Walkowiak is prohibited by law from possessing a firearm, as the attempted purchase violated an order of protection issued in 1st District Court. Walkowiak was charged with attempted criminal purchase of a weapon and criminal contempt. No return court date has been announced.
